SUNNYVALE, CA, April 30, 1997 - Xicom Technology, premier supplier of amplifiers for Satellite Communications, has achieved ISO 9001 Registration. Notification was received from Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, the accreditation firm that conducted an audit of Xicom’s internal policies and procedures.
ISO 9000 models have been established as international standards for the implementation and management of a quality system. ISO 9001, for which Xicom has been awarded registration, is considered the most rigorous of the ISO certification standards. In preparing for ISO 9001 certification, Xicom conducted rigorous company-wide internal audits. The scope of Xicom's registration covers R&D, production, sales, marketing, and customer support for Xicom’s product line.
According to Walt Wood, Xicom Technology President and CEO, "Our main objective in applying for ISO 9001 Certification was to formally document and improve upon Xicom’s preexisting Quality System. With a growth rate of 50-100% a year, we felt that this documentation process was especially important for us to continue to provide high quality products."
