SUNNYVALE, CA, June 22, 1997 - Xicom Technology, premier supplier of amplifiers for Satellite Communications, today announced the release of a self-contained, light-weight Ka-Band amplifier.

Xicom’s new family of Ka-Band amplifiers have been designed for emerging SATCOM and LMDS applications. By combining the RF components and the power supply into a single weatherized package, high voltage interconnect cables are no longer needed. This design approach simplifies installation and improves operational reliability.

With this technological enhancement, Xicom Technology makes it possible for Ka-Band users to enjoy the convenience and enhanced efficiency of an easy-to-use, self-contained unit. According to Kevin Kirkpatrick, Xicom Technology’s Director of Marketing, "The total weight is roughly ½ that of competitive products. Burdensome interconnect cables and a split box are no longer needed."

Xicom Technology offers both single and redundant configurations. Power levels of 120W and 150W are available.
