Xicom Technology Adds Block Upconverter
Option
for Antenna-Mount High Power Amplifiers (HPAs)
SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 10, 2000 -- Xicom
Technology is proud to announce their latest antenna-mount HPA product enhancement:
an outdoor amplifier that integrates a block upconverter. Designed to respond
to market demands, this new option provides the industry with a compact,
space-saving solution. The block upconverter option is available now for
XicomC-band and Ku-band ODU models.
Kevin Kirkpatrick, director of marketing, explains Xicom’s innovative approach, "By combining an L-band block upconverter in the ODU box, we are economizing on space, reducing cost, and eliminating lossy RF interconnects. Also, by performing gain adjustment at RF frequencies, the C/I does not degrade at low power levels, and Bit Error Rate (BER) performance is therefore improved"
